Google Business Profile for Siding Repair: What Actually Gets Calls

For a local repair business, the Google map listing is the storefront. How to set up and run a Google Business Profile that gets a siding repair guy calls, without games.

For most homeowners, finding a siding repair contractor starts on Google, usually on the map. Your Google Business Profile (GBP) is free, and for a one-man repair business it's the most important listing you'll ever have. Here's how to make it work.

Set it up right

  • Business name: your real business name. Don't stuff keywords like "Best Siding Repair Aurora" into it; Google can suspend you for that.
  • Category: pick the primary category that fits best (for example, siding contractor), then add others that match what you do.
  • Service area: most repair businesses work at the customer's home, so set a service area and hide your home address.
  • Phone and hours: a number you actually answer, and real hours.
  • Services: list every repair you do, one by one: vinyl siding repair, storm damage, soffit and fascia, trim and J-channel, gutter work if you do it.
  • Description: plain words about what you fix and where.

Photos are your proof

Upload real photos regularly: before and after shots, your truck, you on the job. Real job photos build trust, and an active profile looks like an active business.

Reviews decide most calls

  • Ask every happy customer, right after the job, with a direct review link by text.
  • Ask them to mention the work and the town. It helps customers and search.
  • Answer every review, good and bad, politely. A calm reply to a bad review wins more trust than ten five-stars.
  • Never buy reviews or review your own business. It's against Google's rules and can get you removed.

Keep it active

Post updates, answer questions in the Q&A, and keep your hours current, especially around holidays and storms.

Track what works

GBP shows how many people called, clicked to your website or asked for directions. Watch it monthly. Most repair guys find that photos and reviews move the numbers more than anything else.

Watch out for fakes

In many markets, lead-gen companies create listings that look like local contractors. Report listings with fake addresses through Google's tools, but focus on making your real profile the best one on the map.

Your profile is also one of the main sources AI tools read when they recommend contractors. See getting named by AI search.
